It’s never too early to spark a young mind’s interest in science and history, so plan a family trip to the Imagination Station in Wilson!
The Earth, Light, and Color
When you arrive at the Imagination Station, you can explore a variety of year-round exhibits that illuminate the world in eye-opening ways. At Science on a Sphere, a six-foot sphere is suspended in the air, while an array of projectors displays information to transform the sphere into a globe. A nearby control center lets you browse numerous topics that can change what you see on the globe. The Hidden No More: Shedding Light on Science Stories in the Shadows is a distinctly enlightening experience, as it illustrates how light and color are related, how they help us understand space, and even how rainbows are formed.
Understanding Animals
After you’ve learned about the amazing physics of our world, dive into biology with exhibits that explore life on earth. At the Observation Hive, you can watch honey bees as they fetch pollen while worker drones tend to the hive. At the herpetarium, you’ll see reptiles from around the globe, representing how different species live in vastly different environments.
Get Creative, Get Active
Lace up your tennis shoes for the Body-ology exhibit, which invites guests to engage in some fun physical activities. Here, you can scale their rock wall, breeze along on the snowboard machine, or even test your speed with a race against one nature’s quickest creatures. At the Keva Plank Studio, you’ll have building blocks at your disposal as you try to replicate iconic structures like the Colosseum in Rome.
